Uni-Systems Engineering has been involved in the design and development of mechanisms for the Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT) since 2014, partnering closely with M3 Engineering to produce robust, reliable, redundant designs that also emphasize accessibility and maintainability.

Enclosure Mechanization

In support of the Giant Magellan Telescope Organization’s (GMTO) Site, Enclosures, and Facilities (SEF) team, Uni-Systems Engineering has also produced trade studies for the enclosure rotation system load path components, the enclosure rotation system drive, the shutters, the windscreen, the moon screen, the pier lift platform, the instrument platform, and the floor hatch.
