Field Service Technician

Job Summary

We are looking for a strong Field Service Technician who is eager to shape the world around them. You will immediately make a lasting impact maintaining one-of a-kind Uni-System Engineering mechanized structures for our customers.

This position supports the Field Service Manager by coordinating the operating, testing, maintenance, and calibration of company equipment while maintaining relationships with customers. This may include some job sales, scope, scheduling, staffing assignments, procurement, and follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction with all on-site work. This individual is responsible for making and/or coordinating domestic (and potentially foreign) site visits to ensure company equipment is maintained and operating correctly and efficiently per customer requirements. The Field Service Technician will also be expected to plan and run tests on equipment to locate potential issues with equipment or to respond to a customer request. They may work alongside engineers to design, test, and program equipment.

  • Maintains an active and positive relationship with customers
  • Responsible for direction and management of on-site field service crews
  • Works with field service crews to ensure all aspects of job are complete
  • Maintains organization and maintenance of field service equipment
  • Ensure compliance to company QMS policies
  • Read drawings, schematics, and diagrams to determine how to assemble parts, machines, and other equipment
  • Use specialized instruments to measure parts and ensure they meet specifications
  • Inspect components for defects
  • Test the performance of company equipment
  • Install mechanical and electronic components
  • Operate, test, and maintain equipment
  • Logs and organizes maintenance/facility activities and file structure
  • Analyze and record test results and prepare written documentation
  • Travel domestically and/or foreign up to 50% of the time
  • Assists Warehouse Manager when needed
  • Perform additional tasks as requested by management


Job Requirements


  • Associate degree required


  • 2+ year in related field
  • Experience in machine control systems


  • Understanding drawings, diagrams, and schematics
  • Understanding of industrial automation electrical components and software is preferred
  • Understanding of PLC coding and ability to troubleshoot is preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude
