Marlins Ballpark

Operable Outfield Wall

Depending on weather conditions, the Marlins Ballpark operable outfield wall may open in conjunction with the retractable roof or remain open when the roof is closed if the wind gusts are less than 30 miles per hour.

The staff of Uni-Systems Engineering designed the structure and electro-mechanical drive system for the Marlins Ballpark operable outfield walls. The six 63-foot tall by 42-foot wide glass panels open or close in three to five minutes, depending on wind speeds. When open, the panels provide a 245-foot window overlooking downtown Miami.

Uni-Systems Engineering staff also designed, supplied, and installed the Marlins Ballpark retractable roof and home run celebration feature.
